The Viadukt district, Zurich's trendy landmark

During a trip to the Swiss economic capital, make sure to visit this former industrial district undergoing a complete renovation. One of the most dynamic places in the city!

Head to the west of Zurich to discover the historic Viadukt district, now known as the trendiest place in the city. Formerly devoted to manufacturing and the metalworking industry, the sector – which took advantage of being close to the train station and Limmat River – today gives free rein to art, culture, design and architecture through 60 some shops. A true paradise for shopaholics!

This new urban spot, which stretches over 500 metres long, is also home to the city's very first indoor market, where delicatessens, trendy cafes, nightclubs, fashion shops and art galleries mingle. You will undoubtedly fall for the atypical architecture of the place. All around, rough stone walls remain exposed – even inside the shops –, which accentuates the unique atmosphere and irresistible charm of this new arts district. There is everything to wander, do your shopping, have fun, eat at the restaurant or have a drink with friends.
