If you can't get a table at the famous The Test Kitchen, The Pot Luck Club may be your ‘lucky' card, and it's right nearby. Opened in 2012, this restaurant is nestled on the top floor of The Old Biscuit Mill and offers breath-taking views over the city. But the real show here, better than the best reality TV, is the open kitchen where the brigade bustles around a 1.4-metre Robata grill while wielding a battery of woks.
Revisited tapas come in the five tastes: salty, sour, bitter, sweet, and umami, an idea of Luke Dale-Roberts after his many travels in South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Dishes are meant to be shared, which adds to the conviviality of the place. He has developed a Sunday brunch as well. And if, again, all the tables are booked, you can have a cocktail at sunset, or even try Naturalis, one of the chef's alternative addresses.
