The Ménagère: the ‘grande bellezza' of Italian cuisine

The Ménagère: the ‘grande bellezza' of Italian cuisine

You will want to spend hours in this wonderful spot, which serves home-cooking just like mamma's, with a touch of ultra-modernity to awaken the taste buds. Sublime!

The first housewares shop in Florence, open since 1896, houses under its giant glass roof a 1,500-sqm concept restaurant on two floors, designed by architects Luca and Marco Baldini of the Q-Bic studio. Exposed metal structures, rough walls, period floor tiles—the industrial decor is softened by a few contemporary design elements and the lovely wooden tables and chairs.

Eat here on the fly or settle in for a midnight snack with a large group of friends. And then there is the shopping! You can buy the Karman light fixtures that illuminate the white ceramic dishes in which the food is served, along with perfumes, flowers, and rare plants. The food is listed as ‘hot and cold', ‘soft-crunchy' or ‘sweet and sour'. The perfect place for lunch—at two in the morning!
