The Imperial Palace is far from the bustle, in the new part of Seoul.
Nearby are Garosu and Gangnam-gil, two neighbourhoods known for their rows of shops, restaurants, bars, and art galleries. Antiques and paintings from England and France adorn the walls of this hotel, which has the elegance of an old palace. The entrance is spectacular, with its Victorian-inspired fountain, and helps set the hotel off as an alternative to the modern-design hotels of Seoul. The rooms are spacious and the luxurious spa with its huge Japanese-style tub, is extremely inviting.
This is also one of the few hotels in the capital to have an outdoor pool and also offers access to a large indoor pool. The staff is extremely helpful and all speak perfect English.
