The Columbia Road Flower Market: a Sunday outing

On a Sunday, come rain or shine, sleet or snow, come to Columbia Road for the flower power you need to colour your week.

Head to the East End, close to Brick Lane, Old Spitalfields Market, and Shoreditch, where you can walk through a maze of stalls of flowers and plants on Columbia Road. Roses in the wildest colours full of heavenly scents, red peonies and yellow sunflowers, depending on the season, the street is full of different shapes and colours... and lots and lots of people (the only downside to this trip).

On either side of Columbia Road, you will find small art galleries, antique vintage-clothing stores as well as charming shops like Angela Flanders with its fantastic fragrances to choose from, not mentioning the numerous pubs and cafés where you will be delighted to rest before heading home.

If you need flowers any other day of the week, check out the flower market of New Covent Garden, open daily from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
