The Buerehiesel: sincere cuisine, rich in emotions

Welcome to the headquarters of chef Eric Westermann, multi-awarded for the continuous high quality of this Strasbourg institution.

Reservations are a necessity for lunch or dinner in this beautiful half-timbered 17th-century farmhouse with stunning views of the Orangerie Park. At the table, inventive, modern, generous cuisine meets the specifications of a great house. If you are an Epicurean looking for unusual flavours, be prepared for pleasant surprises. Though the menu does not hide its local roots, they have been modernised with aplomb. The selection of gourmet menus contributes, without exception, to a singular taste experience. Among the temptations: filet of smoked eel, stir-fried duck foie gras in poppy on a bed or arugula salad and poultry dressing in Melfor vinegar, or the roasted lobster from Brittany served with tomatoes, watermelon and watermelon juice. Next is the Peking duck filet in spices and grilled buckwheat, with grilled beetroot, raw peaches cooked in Port wine, or even the confit leg of lamb in piquillo juice and argan oil. Keep some room for the unforgettable grapefruit soufflé, with Campari granite and grapefruit sorbet. Impeccable, attentive service complements a wine list that navigates with intelligence between national and local Grands Crus, as well as lesser-known greats.
