Not even Delhi is immune from the ‘French touch', particularly the district of Hauz Khas.
A young French woman, Pauline Bijvoet, has opened a warm and cosy little hotel, full of generosity. Furnished with period pieces, photos of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, chesterfields, Muda armchairs, dhurri carpets (of hand-woven wool) and vintage dishes from the north of France, this welcoming hotel encourages guests to relax and indulge themselves.
There are only four rooms, but this is a guesthouse that thinks big. Many services are offered, such as airport pick-up in an Ambassador car, babysitting service, and relaxing therapeutic massages. For longer stays, Pauline also has two apartments, each with kitchen, living room, and bedroom. Scarlette New Delhi has more than just one trick in its bag.
