It is very good, and very expensive, and very fashionable, so, of course, it is very noisy. Opened in 2004 in the historic Brown Hotel by Myles Chefetz, the Prime 112 has many strengths: a dream location, almost at the tip of South Beach; and a modern and elegant room with brick walls, black tables, and intimate lighting. The steakhouse soon became the favorite rendezvous spot for celebrities and models.
The food is delicious giant T-bone steaks, whole lobsters stuffed with crab and scallops and basted in cognac butter, or Kobe beef hot dogs, all accompanied by sauces and generous portions of vegetables. For lunch you can choose from soups, a staggering number of salads and sandwiches, plus the full range of grilled meats.
But night's the time to come and see and be seen. Even if you have booked an obligation you may be in for a long wait. No doubt, this is the price of success…
