Porta Portese Flea Market

The most famous open-air market of the Italian capital and one of the Roman favourites. Avanti!

A ristretto finished at a cafe counter, you are now ready to lose yourself in the meanders and morning excitement of the flea market in the Trastevere district, which extends from Porta Portese to Piazza Ippolito Nievo, like a huge Ali Baba cave!
Once a high place of the black market during the Second World War, it is today an institution. On Sunday, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in a merry ballet of comings and goings, Romans and visitors crowd along the colourful stands. "Tutto a 1 euro" ("Everything 1 euro"), "Fermati!" ("Stop!"), the displays compete to draw you in. Clothing, fashion accessories, vinyl records, old typewriters, books, dishes, watches - you will find absolutely everything! There, it is more about wandering in an authentic atmosphere than finding a rare pearl. To note, arrive early to make bargains and do not hesitate to negotiate!
