Since 1881, the same fervour, the same energy and the same enthusiasm have animated the Polynesian community and the visitors lucky enough to be in the islands at the right time. For it is not only Tahiti that celebrates this event, but all of the islands that gather to celebrate this fascinating multi-faceted culture throughout the month of July. There are crafts, shows, competitions, dances, and songs; rituals and historical reconstructions; canoe races and traditional sports competitions. All in all, it provides extraordinary excitement and unforgettable moments.
