Pod Boutique Hotel: the ocean at the end of the road

A designer, chic and eco-friendly address for some serious cocooning.

Opulence perfectly suits the minimalist lines of this boutique hotel facing the Atlantic, Table Mountain, and Lion's Head. Perched high above Camps Bay, there are 17 rooms here in a palette of granite, slate, and glass. Greg Wright Architects placed wooden box-like structures on the hill into which the rooms were fitted. The wood and stone combine with the white bedding to make for a surprisingly warm room in the spirit of a welcoming loft.

Less visible but still environmentally-friendly, the hotel aimed at using green energy sources during its construction, including solar panels to heat the water. Make the most of the activities offered by the hotel during your stay: visit the Cape Peninsula, tour the vineyards, or head out on a day's safari.

Appreciate the lounge for late departures after checkout, which is all you need to cool off and shower up before getting to your long-haul flight.
