Paranga, the cool summer spot

Paranga, the cool summer spot

On the famous Camps Bay strip, the Paranga offers sunny local cuisine.

On the seafront in Camps Bay, the Paranga is the perfect place to see and be seen. Billing itself as ‘Cape Town's coolest culinary experience', here you can admire the evening sun diving into the water, just across the street from the Paranga terrace. The colours of the stretched-canvas sky in summertime match the honey-tinted stone walls to perfection.

Go for the grilled kingklip (a local cusk eel, famous for its white and firm flesh) and shellfish, the beef carpaccio, the goat cheese and apple kataïfi, the butcher's cut or vegetarian wok with soba noodles. The offerings for early risers? How about a breakfast featuring a coconut and passion fruit smoothie alongside Eggs Royal with smoked salmon and hollandaise, or fruit with pomegranate seed, Bulgarian yoghurt and granola. The cuisine, sourced locally, lives up to the view, which is saying a lot!
