Happy accidents do happen. In 2016, Antonio Girardi was looking for roomier office spaces to develop his expanding architecture agency. He visited this little palazzo, a stone's throw away from the Piazza del Popolo in the centre of Rome. And he fell in love with it. Palazzo Dama is located in the former Malaspina family property, owned for more than a century. Antonio Girardi dropped the idea of an agency and switched this sumptuous palace into a hotel. All Rome talked about it at the time. It must be said that the Palazzo Dama is truly special. In keeping with the original architecture, the 18th century façade was kept intact, along the impressive central staircase and the wrought iron gates. As for decoration, it presents a blend of Art Nouveau, vintage and design styles. The hotel offers about 30 elegant and cosy rooms, a refined restaurant and the Raspoutine nightclub, one of the trendiest in town.
