To the delight of New Yorkers in search of the famous Dan Dan Peanut Noodles, rice cooked with tea, or the Kung Pao Burrito (made with pastrami and melting cheese), Mission Chinese Food is back at a new Lower East Side address. The queue at the entrance never ends, even late at night.
The entire old menu is still available, but to celebrate this new era, Danny Bowien (head of both the original Mission Chinese Food in the Mission district of San Francisco and its New York branch) now serves Mission Chinese pizza as well. You will quickly be addicted to the house specials. We recommend trying the blue crab ravioli and the beef brisket with broccoli and oyster sauce, as well as the famous rice with salt cod.
Mission Chinese Food accepts reservations for parties of 7 or less up to 14 days in advance.
