The pot is boiling over with creativity on the continent. Since 2010, Hanneli Ruppert has been dishing out the best in the same way a locavore chef does. Savoir-faire and imagination contribute to her successful gathering of the best from the entire continent: quality, colourful, joyful, ‘Made in Africa' objects, often of natural materials.
Her concept store offers elegant fashions with refined accessories that aim for sustainable development and traceability. A big hurrah to the MaXhosa brand by Laduma that explores the Xhosa culture through graphic printed knits, or the Ghanian YEVU label for its reinterpretation of traditional African fabrics.
On the walls, photographs show African life through the 1960s in black-and-white studio shots of the famous Malik Sidibé of Mali or fantastic portraits in bright colours, with traditional design borders from the Moroccan Hassan Hajjaj.
