San Francisco is the home of cuisine introduced by young chefs like Carrie and Rupert Blease.

A harmony of white, light grey, and wood. As soon as you get through the door, you will notice that this restaurant has a Scandinavian air to it. Carrie and Rupert Blease are, however, full-blooded Americans.

After having trained with different European chefs, particularly in England, and then in New York, they opened this San Francisco restaurant. Everything is homemade, including the bread, the butter, and even the herbal teas. If you must choose between lunch and dinner, go for dinner, as this will give you time to really enjoy their cuisine.

It resembles San Francisco, between sea and land, and is imbued with European influences. The menu is small but goes straight to the well- conceived tasting menu. Poached oysters with seaweed and cucumber are a real treat. The smoked cod, served with borlotti bean curry and black olives, is delicate and scrumptious, and the Wagyu beef with white truffle is glorious. Want some more?
