Le Clemenceau, cutlery creator

Since 1999, Pol Demongeot has been creating unique pieces of cutlery in Fort Mozzello, across from the Citadel of Calvi.

After creating his first knife in 1984 at Jean-Pierre Ceccaldi's workshops in Zonza, Pol Demongeot joined Franck Thomas for ten years at Lotus cutlery, and then worked at the Lumio Ethnographic Centre of Metallurgical Research alongside Christian Moretti. A tamer of materials, Pol Demongeot displays his mastery of steel with his coal forge.

Make a stop in at the Le Clemenceau shop when tootling about to admire the creativity of its mineral and bronze collections and have a chat with Regis Bonnaffous, a big fan of steel and this exceptional craft. You may then proceed with your local exploration and buy some Lonzu, dried sausages or a slice of Sabiani cheese at the famous Annie Traiteur deli, located on Clemenceau street. A perfect occasion to try out that newly bought blade of yours!
