She is an actress and dancer; he is a sociologist in training. This lovely French couple opened this bed and breakfast on an old 1850s farm located in the middle of Cape Town. With some of their vinyl collection to entertain your ears and a book to occupy your mind, they hope you feel right at home. French style encounters South African design with furniture unearthed at flea markets, pillows in ‘Wax' African fabrics, and lampshades conceived by local designers.
Unsurprisingly, the entire setting feels like a vacation home. The perfect luxury? It might be pulling a ripe pomegranate (grenadine in French) from the tree in the charming garden. And if you are too lazy to harvest the passion fruit, lemons, and guava yourself, you will find them on the breakfast table.
As for the library, an oasis within the oasis, it invites you to come and borrow whatever you like; the books here are available in several languages.
