H15 Boutique Hotel: contemporary touches amidst vintage character

This building of character, a former embassy, promises cosy nights.

Away from the tourist area of the Old Town, H15 Boutique Hotel offers another, more local, version of the city. This address, a member of Design Hotels, is within walking distance of the halls of the Koszyki Market (soon be refurbished) and the areas bars and restaurants. This establishment of 46 rooms and apartments is straight out of a history book. Conceived and built as a private residence around 1890, it hosted secret meetings for the independence of Poland before World War II. It also housed the Russian Embassy—you can have fun looking for the symbols of the hammer and sickle on the walls. It was even one of the seats of the Nazi party, occupants that paradoxically helped save the building. Renovated and converted into a hotel in 2012 under the designer Mariola Tomczak, it offers comfortable rooms with colourful touches and the joyful photos of Rita Zimmerman.
