At the centre of its eponymous district is Fenway Park, the oldest baseball stadium in the United States. Launched with great fanfare in 1912 for the Boston Red Sox's first game, against the celebrated Yankees, its character hasn't changed much. The scoreboard, for example, up on the famous ‘Green Monster' wall, has been there since 1934, and still has to be manually updated.
The fans in the stands at Fenway are as much of a show as the game on the field. Book tickets well in advance! And who knows, maybe you'll get to sit in the legendary Red Seat, the only red seat in the bleachers, which marks the longest drive ever hit in the stadium's history.
