The building in itself is worth a visit: it used to house the former Liverpool Road Station, which, from 1830 onwards, was the last stop of the first railway in the world. Today, it shelters part of the Science and Industry Museum, where everything is devised to introduce young and old to even the most challenging of scientific concepts, from basic notions of electricity and gravity to radioactivity. Each section offers playful animations in a series of educational and family-friendly experiences, as impressive as they are funny.
The museum also pays tribute to the industrial world. With regards to the location's history, the theme of transportation and its evolution is inevitably one of the high points of the circuit. On weekends, visitors can also ride an authentic steam train. As for aviation fans, they just need to cross the street and discover the second section of the premises, dedicated to aerospace. For instance, they will love the airplane flight simulator. There is definitely something for everybody.
