Lined with gnarled Ficus, Dizengoff Street is home to fashionable boutiques, trendy cafés, and restaurants to the south, towards the square of the same name. On Tuesdays and Fridays, it is crowded with stands selling handmade jewellery, vintage clothing, and accessories across from the stores, nestled in a flea market near the pedestrian bridge.
To the north, however, are the hairdressers and bridal shops that compete for space in a quiet residential area. Dizengoff Street has become a paradise for strollers. One no longer says ‘walk', but literally ‘dizengoff' in the popular parlance.
The Dizengoff Centre is the number one shopping centre in the city and will delight fashionistas with more than 420 shops, two cinemas, and even a gym with a swimming pool on the roof. It receives an average of 60,000 visitors a day!
