Les Rendez-vous de l'Erdre is the only free jazz festival in France. It is also the country's largest gathering of maritime and fluvial heritage, with a fleet of over 150 boats cruising and racing in regattas along the 28 navigable kilometres of the Erdre.
Fostering links between the history of jazz in Nantes and the history of the Erdre, the festival takes over the riverbanks, with 110 concerts and more than 300 artists. The must-do event of the summer's end, the festival has a mission to make jazz accessible to all, to sustain its vitality by presenting a diverse programme (fusion, vocal, ‘noise'…), and to renew the local jazz scene by promoting young artists alongside headliners.
