Just 25 minutes from Punta del Este airport, Casa Zinc is an essential address in the region. The creator of the place, Aaron Hojman, has only one obsession in mind: finding, in schools, old farms, and factories, industrial furniture of the early 20th century that he creatively and imaginatively recycles.
The zinc and the bricks are the essential building blocks of his style. Upon arrival at the posada, the open kitchen in the large living room presents you with an impressive collection of apothecary jars. Each of the six rooms is equipped with ‘found' furniture: school tables, an old architect's desk, railway ties, resurrected headboards, 1950s chairs, and atelier lamps.
There's a place to play boules in the courtyard. You can feast daily on the hotel's famous ‘tart-salad' the only cooked meal offered.
