Just ten kilometres from Istanbul, on the western bank, the elegant town of Bebek is the haunt of wealthy Istanbul residents. It's a bohemian-chic place for strolling past the shop windows and along the seafront. It is also home to Mangerie, a trendy and discreet canteen on the third floor of a unpretentious-looking building.
In an elegant and relaxed atmosphere, you will not be disappointed, either by the view or the colourful cuisine, which is inspired by local street food. Brunch or a la carte, every hour has its special dish. For instance, enjoy a delicious menemen, traditional Turkish breakfast dish with eggs, green peppers, tomatoes and bread, or beef sausages served with sautéed spinach sprouts and mash potatoes.
To get there, take a ferry from downtown Istanbul. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.
