Bayside Marketplace: lively shopping

Bayside Marketplace: lively shopping

Visit this gigantic mall before embarking on a cruise around the islands, inhabited by famous artists and the rich.

Close to 150 stores, bars, and restaurants-like the Hard Rock Café-covering more than eight hectares await tourists here. Put like that, you may not want to go, and yet it is always crowded. Certainly, the complex, close to the port, attracts cruise passengers, especially those who find the huge mall appealing, but there are quietly strolling families as well, and young people window-shopping, and tourists on shopping trips.

There are free concerts in the late afternoon. If you look out to sea, you can admire the enormous cruise ships-impressive white monsters-that carry up to 6,000 passengers.

From the Bayside Marketplace, you can embark on a more modest 1 ½-hour mini-cruise. The boat navigates around islands where billionaires live in sumptuous villas surrounded by immaculate gardens. And it is always fun to hear the guide say how much they paid for them…
