It breaks with many hotelier codes. Start by observing it from the outside. The lines of its balconies evoke thoughts of a home more than a hotel. The entrance to the lobby is a wall of glass, like a showcase.
You enter a world of design that the builders of the Parthenon surely would not have disowned, as they have elegance in common with this hotel. With walnut furniture and woodwork, marble, furniture by Le Corbusier, Ettore Sottsass, and Konstantin Grcic, the tone is set. The rooms extend the codes of this modernism with refinement, and honour the founding fathers by photos that reproduce masterpieces of the National Archaeological Museum on the walls. The two “Hellenic suites” may welcome up to five people and offer a panoramic view over the Parthenon and the Greek capital.
As for the terrace, all dressed in marble, it is so close to the Acropolis you feel as though you're having a friendly discussion with the gods while having your breakfast.
