An amazing place, despite its central location (close to Piazza Venezia). Once you push through its heavy brown wood doors, you will wonder for a moment if you are not… in Munich! Because this Roman institution, which dates back more than 100 years, follows the standard codes of a Bavarian brewery: loud, back-slapping friendliness; dark wood panelling and brass fittings; beer aplenty (large selection, with local blondes and international specialities), as well as goulash and sausages (local meats only).
The more adventurous order the house speciality, the famous “km” sausage, while others will choose typical Roman dishes listed on the menu: spaghetti all'amatriciana for starters, fagioli all'uccelletto (pork beans) and trippa alla romana (Roman tripe) for main course!
