Each piece of checked baggage must not exceed:
- 23 kg or 32 kg according to the class of travel (see below table),

Special Cases for Voyageur (Economy) Baggage Allowance


In some cases, passengers traveling in Voyageur (Economy) are able to carry a second piece of baggage weighing up to 23 kg, and 158 cm (height + length + width) free of charge.

Musical Instruments


Transportation in the cabin
- Instruments of which the total dimensions do not exceed 115cm can be accepted in the cabin instead of the free allowed one piece of cabin baggage.
- Larger instruments can only be accepted on an extra seat and must be packed in a hard case with round corners.

Transportation in the hold
- The instrument must be packed in a hard case suitable for the protection of the instrument
- Advance clearance is mandatory if the weight of the instrument exceeds 32kg and/or the total dimensions exceed 300cm.

Speciality Items

Please note the following changes to the AFKL Baggage policy for tickets issued on/after 16 April 2012:

Golf Bag
This item will now be treated as a "normal" bag.
Customers will no longer be able to check-in a golf bag free of charge, in addition to their ticketed baggage allowance.
An exception will be made for Flying Blue Golf Club members, who will continue to be able to check in a golf bag free of charge on presentation of a voucher at check-in. 
 
Bike
This item will now be charged as a "speciality" item; the same charges as applicable for tandems will apply.
Customers will no longer be able to check-in a bike as part of their ticketed baggage allowance. 
 
Surfboard
Surfboards > 107 cms and < 200 cms in dimensions will now be charged as a "speciality" item, the same charges as applicable for surfboards > 200 cms will apply.
Customers will no longer be able to check-in surfboards > 107 cms and < 200 cms as part of their ticketed baggage allowance.
Surfboards < 107 cms in dimensions can continue to be checked in as a "normal" bag i.e. part of the ticketed baggage allowance.

Baggage fees


Baggage fees will apply if you exceed:
- the authorized weight limit per baggage piece,
- and/or 158 cm total dimensions (height + length + width)
- and/or the maximum number of allowed baggage pieces (see tables above)

Pooling of number of bags is allowed for families, groups or party if they travel together and check-in their baggage at the same time to the same destination. Weight pooling is not allowed.

In addition, it is not possible to check-in over 10 pieces of luggage.

By purchasing your additional baggage allowance online, you will receive a 20% reduction on the prices below.
You can purchase your additional baggage allowance online:
- when purchasing your ticket online
- when checking in online (departing from certain cities and only for flights operated by Air France). Purchasing additional baggage allowance online is not available for flights departing from Atlanta, Detroit, Newark, Orlando, Damascus and Seoul and for flights to/from Mauritius.

Corsica Flights


You can transport several baggage items, but their combined total weight must not exceed 23 kg. The following excess baggage charges apply:
- For flights operated by XK (Air Corsica) between NCE/MRS and Corsica: €1 / Kg.
- For flights operated by AF or XK to/from (Orly / Lyon) and Corsica: € 3 / Kg.

Baggage allowance for children under 2 years of age
If you are traveling with your infant on your lap, you can carry 1 additional small baggage item in the cabin at no extra charge. This baggage item must weigh less than 12 kg / 26.4 lb and measure less than 55 x 25 x 35 cm / 21.6 x 9.8 x 13.7 in. On long-haul flights**, foldable strollers with dimensions less than or equal to 15 x 30 x 100 cm / 5.9 x 11.8 x 39.4 in. are also accepted in the cabin. 

**Except flights between metropolitan France and Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Saint Martin, Cayenne, Réunion, Seychelles, Mauritius, Punta Cana, Havana, Santo Domingo, and as long as ample space is available in the overhead baggage compartments.
