A runaway success since opening in 2009, Zenzakan attracts a loyal clientele, including the business crowd, every day and night. The ambience is Far Eastern, with many statues and giant busts of the Buddha.
The decor is sumptuous, in brown, reddish-brown, and black tones with red-tinted lighting. Bouquets of branches, leaves, and flowers invade this refined and sublime temple. The food is also, of course, Asian-themed, with Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese dishes. The teriyaki salmon with Bellaverde tempura and Hokkaido croquettes is divine, as is the crispy pork belly with lentils.
Before or after dinner, head to the lounge bar, which offers a range of inventive cocktails, such as a mojito made with lemongrass and a second version made with Japanese plum wine.
