Walk of Fame: boulevard of the stars

monument

The most famous sidewalk in Hollywood recites the names of celebrities in the film and entertainment industries, as honoured by the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame, which is over a kilometre long, originally had 2,500 blank stars awaiting attribution. Now, nearly 2,400 of them have names attached.

At the induction ceremony, after a donation of 30,000 USD to the Hollywood Historic Trust Association (which manages maintenance), each new honouree generally, someone whose name is synonymous with talent and glamour is given a granite slab with its famous five-pointed star. A brass emblem indicates one of the five award categories: music, theatre, film, radio, or television.

Tip: the international stars are closer to Grauman's Chinese Theater (now known as the TCL Chinese Theater). Curiously, to this day, some great artists still do not have a star; so don't look for Robert de Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Redford, or Madonna. Others, however, have managed to obtain several. On 12 November 2015, Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, joined this illustrious constellation.
