Views from the Great Wall

remarkable

Walk in the footsteps of history, back to a mythical China.

Ranked among the seven wonders of the world, the Great Wall deserves its title. Built over 2,000 years of history to defend China from barbarian invasions, it passes through mountains, deserts, and grasslands. You find yourself imagining men stationed in the fire towers, aiming their weapons through the slots in the wall to stop barbarian intrusions. This is a must-see. It is fascinating to walk on the fortress, which stretches out infinitely in either direction. An original way to explore the Great Wall is on horseback at the foot of the ramparts in the Kangxi Grassland. Rent horses 10 km from Badalin for a 1 ½-hour ride. Even beginners can do this. Then, go enjoy the fabulous view from the wall.
