In the heart of the Nine Streets neighbourhood, the Van Harte is popular for its designer atmosphere and affordable food. Maarten Hood, the restaurant's director, greets you with a smile. The dining room has blonde parquet floors and gentle lighting.
For lunch, choose from salad, a sandwich, or pasta; a soup of the day is also offered. The dinner menu is regularly updated. The prime rib, sea bream, and the risotto are excellent, as is the carrot cake and mascarpone ice cream, chocolate mousse, or crème brulée. You may also choose from the cheese tray.
Van Harte offers a good selection of wines from France, Italy, Argentina, and South Africa. A little sidewalk on the terrace offers a few tables which are hotly disputed when the weather is nice.
