Union Oyster House: a legend

There are oyster bars on practically every street corner in Boston. But if you can only go to one, make it the Union.

Welcome to the oldest restaurant in Boston… and the United States! Suffice to say that this is an absolute must. This temple of gastronomy opened on the Boston Freedom Trail in 1826. Since then, it has continued to serve the Shore Dinner, the traditional New England meal. There's also its famous cream clam chowder, oysters, boiled lobster with melted butter, superb fish and chips, shrimp… Authenticity and simplicity are the hallmarks of this great multi-award-winning restaurant, loved by Bostonians and visitors alike. Ask for table 18, where the Kennedys always sat—they were diehard fans of this legendary establishment.
