Toulouse by water

visit

Embark on an unusual tour of the city via its waterways.

Toulouse is located on the banks of the Garonne and the Canal du Midi, so do not hesitate to take advantage of one of the many cruises offered in order to quietly sail about for a few hours. This is a delightful experience, especially in summer, allowing you to admire the monuments and bridges of the city from another perspective. The barge cruises take you where you choose, on the Garonne around central Toulouse, or the Canal du Midi and the Canal de Brienne outside the city. For those who wish, small boats may be rented for limited use. The Canal du Midi is a marvel of ingenuity and a complete change of scene with the romance of its green banks. Strolling under the majestic tall trees that border the canal is also not to be missed. Built in the 18th century, the canal connects the Garonne River to the Mediterranean and thus allows a river link from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.
