Ti Pima Limon, a dish that sings

hot tip

Naive paintings on the walls and brightly painted wooden tables set the tone for the colourful and unpretentious local cuisine, where freshness is king.

In just a few months, this small, multi-coloured shed has joined the ranks of the top restaurants in Flic-en-Flac and on the island. It serves the best — and the cheapest — Mauritian food in the region. The menu is limited, but what's on it — crispy, perfectly spiced samosas, curries of freshly caught fish, sweet-and-sour chutney, and other seafood-based dishes — are superb. The quality of the produce and the warm welcome from the hostess will make you quickly forget the less-than-comfortable wooden stools and the noise of Rue Royale. You'll be back, for sure.
