The ‘Universe of Particles' is unveiled at the Globe

Published on 02-29-2016 Agenda

The CERN Globe reopens its doors with a permanent exhibition, an educational symbol of scientific research.

CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research) remains mysterious about its discoveries. A massive particle accelerator is hidden in its basement. What are the centres activities and how do they explain how the space around us functions?

Through exhibitions and educational displays, the Foundation for the Globe of Science and Innovation, located in the former Palace of Equilibrium given to CERN by the Swiss Confederation and renamed the Globe, attempts to make us understand the origins of the universe. This is a captivating and playful invitation, which introduces visitors to the great questions of contemporary physics through the ‘Universe of Particles' exhibition.
