The Orchids Hotel: a luxurious mansion in the historical district

boutique

This small eight-room hotel in the centre of Bogota, a five-minute walk from La Candelaria, is an architectural splendour. Its eclectic decor both surprises and seduces.

Its purple facade hides one of the most refined and confidential addresses of the district. Upon your arrival you will be greeted in style by smiling staff in purple uniforms, the colour of the house. A neo-classical mansion built in 1892, it has been restored but still retains its period flooring, wood panelling, mouldings, and original stairs. The eight spacious rooms with generous ceilings are all differently and richly decorated, often with antique furniture and great style, and with names taken from opera. The Thais Suite is very feminine, with gold and purple patina. In the Barber of Seville Suite, wood and pleats are in the spotlight. Tristan and Isoldeis strong on gold and red Baroque upholstery. All of them are unique and enchanting.

At the Rossini restaurant, the menu designed by the chef Harry Sasson is served in a French 19th-century decor with 17th-century grand siècle dishes. The same luxurious elegance reigns in the Chopin lounge and the Oscar Wilde library. A magical spectacle that will not leave you indifferent.
