Both concert hall and museum, the Rudolfinum, also known as the ‘House of Artists,' hosts both the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and the Rudolfinum Gallery in a magnificent Neo-Renaissance palace on Jan Palach Square.
The gallery is noted for its temporary exhibits of contemporary artists, while the Dvořák Hall, which has the best acoustics in the city, is one of the oldest and most elegant in Europe.
The Rudolfinum is a feast for both the eyes and ears. The building was designed by Josef Zitek (creator of the National Theatre) and Josef Schulze (designer of the National Museum).
