The London Eye: if for nothing but the view

An essential stop to rise above London's crowds if only for a moment. Located on the Thames, you can see most of the city's landmarks on your ride in the sky.

Located on the right bank of the River Thames to mark the millennial transition to the year 2000, the London Eye is one of the most impressive Ferris wheels in the world.

It took seven years to construct, from conception to completion, a project inspired by David Marks and Julia Barfield, two architects who wanted to give London its 21st century Eiffel Tower. At a weight of 2,100 tonnes, the London Eye has 32 futuristic glass gondolas capable of carrying 25 people each. Over 3.5 million visitors come each year, and you too can enjoy your rise to 135 metres to contemplate the spectacular views.

Dusk is the perfect time to admire St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace during the 30 minutes that the wheel turns. Do not forget to book your tickets online to avoid having to wait before going up to touch the stars!
