Designed by the architectural firm Lemay & Michaud and formerly run by the chef Louis-François Marcotte, who hosts a TV show, The Local attracts gourmets in its industrial-chic decor of vaulted ceilings, concrete floors, clean lines, and stylish leather chairs.
The current chef, Charles-Emmanuel Pariseau, masters traditional and contemporary techniques in his open kitchen. Start with a tuna onion tart, before continuing with a grilled duck confit and a vegetable salad, or veal liver with shallot marmalade and crushed mustard. For more traditional dishes, opt for salmon tartar and stuffed rabbit fillet.
To accompany these delights, count on the astutely selected winemenu designed by Elyse Lambert, voted ‘Best Sommelier of the Americas' in 2009. Reservations essential.
