The Columbia Road Flower Market: a Sunday outing

exploration

On a Sunday, come rain or shine, sleet or snow, come to Columbia Road for the flower power you need to colour your week.

Head to the East End, close to Brick Lane, Old Spitalfields Market, and Shoreditch, where you can walk through a maze of stalls of flowers and plants on Columbia Road. Roses in the wildest colors full of heavenly scents, red peonies and yellow sunflowers, depending on the season, the street is full of different shapes and colors… and lots and lots of people (the only downside to this trip).

On either side of Columbia Road are small art galleries, antique vintage-clothing stores as well as charming shops like Angela Flanders that has fantastic fragrances to choose from, and  pubs and cafés where you'll be delighted to rest before heading home.

If you need flowers any other day of the week, check out the flower market of New Covent Garden, open daily from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
