The Buerehiesel: sincere cuisine, rich in emotions

gastronomic

Eric Westermann, the son of multi-starred Antoine Westermann, has taken over from his father to continue the high quality of this Strasbourg institution.

Reservations are a necessity for lunch or dinner in this beautiful half-timbered 17th century farmhouse with stunning views of the Orangerie Park. At the table, inventive, modern, generous cuisine meets the specifications of a great house.

If you are an Epicurean looking for unusual flavours, be prepared for pleasant surprises. Though the menu does not hide its local roots, they have been modernised with aplomb. The selection of gourmet menus all contribute, without exception, to a singular taste experience. Among the temptations: Barbary duckling with spices, Alsatian venison roasted with quince, and fried frog legs with chervil.

Keep a small place for the unforgettable Manjari chocolate soufflé custard dressed with Bourbon vanilla. Impeccable, attentive service complements a wine list that navigates with intelligence between national and local Grands Crus, as well as lesser-known greats.
