Afro-jazz singer-songwriter Sanzy Viany will be the centre of attention at the Cameroonian French Institute. The artist sings in English, French and Eton, her native language, in which her names means “sun”. Originally from Lekié in the Centre Province in Cameroon, she creates a subtle mix of Cameroonian rhythms like bikutsi that blend with soul, jazz, rumba, bossa nova and even rock music.
This beautiful and melancholic reflexion from Cameroon and Africa in general finds its base in Ethno World Music. Abandon yourself in her universe and live the sweet life, despite often serious lyrics reflecting on the living conditions and prospects of the Cameroonian youth.
