The monastery affords a stunning view over the city, but also reflects a whole section of its history, so that you will leave feeling you have rediscovered it. Its Italian garden breathes and pulsates, especially in the high season. There, a young brother in a tunic sprinkles water on purple flowerbeds, while sun-kissed roses extend their petals for your attention. Towards the cloisters, Sunday sermons resound. A few pergolas, as old as they are leafy, lend you their shade, allowing you to enjoy the music of the fountains dotted here and there. A detour to the cemetery will not in any way cloud your afternoon. Considered by some as the ‘palace' of the genre, it houses within its walls the mausoleums and chapels of the oldest patrician families of Nice. Carrera marble and Turbie limestone give it a surprising aesthetic coherence, which will delight your artistic sensibility.
