Saint-Tropez: the treasured jewel of the French Riviera

exploration

Jet-set destination, and source of inspiration for Cezanne, Bonnard, and Hockney, ‘St-Trop' is the world’s most famous seaport.

In any season, the village is a must for sea lovers, history buffs, and art connoisseurs. A spectacular event calendar fills the year with world-class events, making this a favourite destination for families and night owls.

Authenticity is not an empty word in this mythical village, which doesn't return to it senses until the summers end. The sun-dappled walls and deserted streets, shaded by bougainvillea, are a delight for the visitor. Far from the crowds in the port, is the city's proud citadel from the 16th century well worth the climb.

Besides its renowned Maritime Museum, it offers exceptional views of the Gulf and the marine cemetery. Down at the harbour, towards the Place des Lices and its Provençal market, is Le Musée de l'Annonciade, one of greatest small museums in France, with an impressive collection of contemporary art.
