Among the first Latin American restaurants to be awarded a Michelin star, this restaurant in the Belmond Copacabana Palace, located just off the famous swimming pool, opened in February 2014.
It is also the first Pan-Asian luxury restaurant in the city. The decor is chic, with lovely banquettes and a gallery of portraits by the Belgian artist Christian Develter. Led by the BBC'scooking-show star Ken Hom, the kitchen mixes Thai, Cambodian, Malaysian, Singaporean, Korean, and Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese influences. Besides the excellent sushi bar and sublime yellow-marble countertop, you come to Mee for Thai spicy salad with mandarin orange, scallop sashimi with truffle, or Kobe beef tataki with Japanese ponzu sauce.
To accompany these dishes, order from one of 25 sakes imported from Japan, as advised by the only sake sommelier in the city.
