Like most Zurich West district buildings, we could walk right past the Rosso without seeing anything more than an old abandoned factory. That would be a mistake.
Just steps from the Freitag Tower, Rosso is considered the best Italian restaurant in Zurich. Although quite poorly indicated, the address is popular with locals and young people. In an unaltered industrial setting, the kitchen turns out great fish dishes, homemade pasta, and, especially, pizzas with thin and crispy crusts topped with fresh ingredients.
The wine list is mainly Italian, with some nice local choices, too.
