Real Madrid: the ball and the fork

Santiago Bernabéu, the mythic home of Real Madrid football, also has considerable culinary charms, from traditional Spanish to fusion.

Football is the national sport of Spain. Madrileños maintain a passionate relationship with their teams, the first of which is Real Madrid.

Even if you are not fond of football, try to see at least one match: this is one of the best teams in the world, and a couple of hours spent in its legendary stadium, Santiago Bernabéu, will provide a lasting memory. Attention: matches are often sold out (81,044 spectators). Buy your tickets online.

If football is definitely not your passion, head to one of the stadium complex's four restaurants: the high tech RealCafé Bernabéu; traditional Asador de la Esquina; the local market cuisine of Puerta 57; and the very fusion Zen Market, which has 350 wines on its wine list. Menus run from 25 to 55 euros.
