Raffles Long Bar: the origin of the Singapore Sling

bar

What better way to enjoy the famous Singaporean cocktail than in the very place where it was created?

The decor is reminiscent of an upscale English pub. The star here is the famous Singapore Sling, which was concocted for the first time in 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon.

The ingredients of this delicious cocktail are good gin, cherry brandy, pineapple juice, Benedictine, Cointreau, a dash of grenadine, and a slice of lime. The bar offers different versions and non-alcoholic preparations.

Another bonus here: this is one of the few places in Singapore where it is legal to dirty the floor! Feel free to toss your peanut shells, as is the custom. At the heart of this historical setting, you will find no better place to savour the local cocktail.
